My energy debt amount is wrong, what shall I do?

It can be frustrating to receive a bill that looks wrong.

  • If you don’t think you’re responsible for this energy debt at all, find out what to do here
  • If you are responsible for the debt but the amount is wrong, check what to do below.

If the debt is owed to your current energy supplier

If you submit meter readings, you should do so every month. This makes sure your bills are accurate and only reflect the energy you have used.

If you haven’t submitted a meter reading in a while:

  • Your bill may have been estimated, which is why it could be higher than normal.
  • Submit a meter reading as soon as possible to your supplier.

If you have submitted recent meter readings:

  • It’s unlikely that your bill is wrong. Check the supply period and if the price of your energy has gone up.

If the debt isn't owed to your current energy supplier
